I have several interests to share through this blog including my love of needlework, quilting, cooking, and my pets, Molly and Butterscotch. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with adding to most of these areas over time. I hope you enjoy it.

Getting Organized

I thought I would do a quick post about some organization.  For some reason, Labor Day is the time I usually pick to reorganize.  I've had the X-Stitch App for some time, but never did anything with it.  A couple of my friends are using the Plus version which is subscription based and love it.  I thought i would give it a whirl.

Overall I'm pretty organized with my inventory.  I keep my charts and kits in Rubbermaid hanging file bins in alphabetical order my designer (or if I don't have enough of a designer, by genre).  Since I ran out of space in those, I also have some of the paper covered storage boxes you get at Joann's and Michaels with charts and kits as well.  This makes it pretty easy to gather things up to inventory.  So far I am on the letter "L" which is 1/2 way through the 3rd bin.

The nice thing about the plus version is that you can input photos which is a nice option to give a nice visual.

Even as organized as I thought I was, I still have a few duplicates.  Hopefully using this app will stop duplicates from happening.

Happy Stitching (...and organizing),

  1. Sounds like a great organization system.

  2. Happy organizing! Seeing everyone's stash makes me want to stitch faster. I just got the SB pattern this summer that you had doubles of!
