I have several interests to share through this blog including my love of needlework, quilting, cooking, and my pets, Molly and Butterscotch. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with adding to most of these areas over time. I hope you enjoy it.

2017 - Vacation, Class Finishes and a New Checklist

In August, my best friend Janie and I traveled to Island Park, ID to stay at her Mom's time share condo for a week.  We called this trip "Stitching with the Bears.  This trip had two parts -

  • Visit Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks
  • Take some class pieces to start the finishing process.

Here are some highlights of the National Park portion of our trip...

This is the sign at the North Entrance that we met a nice couple honeymooning from the Indianapolis area that had us take their picture in front of the sign with a Thank You banner.

Roosevelt Arch

Lower Basin

Lower Falls

Devils Tower in northeastern Wyoming

Mount Rushmore
Crazy Horse Model

The Purple Pie Place - great stop for lunch and yes...PIE!

...now for the finishing part of the trip...

I took Betsy Morgan's Pioneer Girl Etui to begin my finishing process.  My goal was to get as much of the book portion of the project done.  I finished the main part of the cover while we were away, then once I returned home I attached the inner compartments and finished the smalls.

My finishing mood continued well after we returned.  I finished the Summerfield Series from Lauren Sauer...

...and then I finished Glastonbury Garden from Lauren Sauer.

Now for the Checklist part of this blog entry...  I decided that I needed a checklist as I have taken so many classes over the years that I wanted some way to keep a list of them electronically that was easily accessible to me.  I thought...there has to be an app for that and guess what - there is!  I went to the app store and found this:

As you can see, I have taken many classes from Betsy Morgan, but have very little finished.  So far I have the Toy Chest and the Bristol bag pieces all stitched - assembly is needed however in order to get checked off.

My next entry will have some recently stitched but not yet finished projects as well as come WIPs.
