I have several interests to share through this blog including my love of needlework, quilting, cooking, and my pets, Molly and Butterscotch. Hopefully I will be able to keep up with adding to most of these areas over time. I hope you enjoy it.

A Little Journey Through the Drawn Thread

Soon, I will be leaving for the Spring Fling Retreat at Stitchville.  This year, they are featuring Cynthia Zittel from The Drawn Thread.  I have loved her designs for over 2 decades and have stitched a few over the years.  I own many of her designs, but have only had the pleasure to stitch a little over a half a dozen, most of them during the mid 1990's through the early 2000's.  Perhaps this retreat will get me back in the Drawn Thread spirit.

"My Chatelaine" taken as a class through What A Stitch in Fishers, IN.

Finished in 1996.
Limited Edition Kit - cannot recall the name.  Finished in 1996
This was a winter whitework sampler that I do not recall the name, but I but recall that it came with white silk in the kit.

A friend of mine did this tone on tone and I fell in love with it.  Unfortunately it did not photograph very well.

Finished in 1997.

"The Teaching Band Sampler" finished in 2000.

This is one of my favorite pieces and was such a pleasure to stitch.

"Random Thoughts"

Finished in 2001
"Cloister Garden"

I'm not sure when I finished this one, but it was most likely in the early 2000's.
"Little Learning Band Sampler"

This was taken as a class through the Victoria Sampler retreat about the year 2000.

"Minute Spot"

I finished this piece last week in honor of the upcoming retreat.  I had a devil of a time finding the clock, but perseverance prevailed and I came out victorious!!  I just put this little thing together this afternoon.

It was fun revisiting all of these pieces and putting together my little history of Drawn Thread.  They all hang on my walls, but it was nice to pull them all together into one blog entry.  I will be sure to post pictures of the journey and the retreat next month.

Best Stitches,
